The starting point

What stood between the business and its next customer?

MarketRahway, NJ · serving New Jersey statewide

Visit the client website

Quality 1st Towing came to us with a category problem: visibility at the moment of a breakdown can determine whether a driver finds the business.

Operating out of Rahway with 24/7 statewide coverage, Quality 1st handles emergency towing, flatbed towing, long-distance towing, wrecker recovery, motorcycle and EV towing, jump starts, battery replacement, lockouts, fuel delivery and junk car removal. The fleet and the certifications were strong. The problem was that a stranded driver on the Parkway searching "tow truck near me" at 11pm saw three national dispatch aggregators and not Quality 1st.

Towing search has traits that make it unusually winnable with the right approach: it's almost entirely mobile, almost entirely click-to-call, and the conversion window is measured in seconds. It's also a category where the aggregators buying the head terms subcontract the actual work. often to operators like Quality 1st, at a margin.

We rebuilt the local footprint around service-area coverage, restructured the site for mobile emergency intent, and ran paid search against the specific breakdown scenarios the aggregators bid on generically.

Time from landing to call tap dropped 68%.

Strategy into delivery

Match paid search to the roadside situation.

Rather than bidding against national aggregator budgets on "tow truck near me," we built call-only campaigns around specific breakdown scenarios. accident recovery, flat tire, dead battery, lockout, out of fuel, EV transport. each tightly geofenced and scheduled around peak breakdown hours.

An aggressive negative keyword program cut wasted spend 59%, and cost per call fell 41%.

The strategic takeaway

The next action had to be obvious under pressure.

A stranded driver has different information needs from someone researching a long-term purchase. This engagement focused on service relevance, coverage, and a visible calling route. The summary reports both inbound calls and click-to-call actions at +311%; those labels are kept separate in the detailed results because tapping a number and completing a call are different events. Neither metric should be read as completed towing jobs.
